Join Us for a Matinee or Evening of Musical Theatre!

Ira B. Jones Elementary is proud to present our 22nd musical production, The Little Mermaid JR., directed by Heather Gallagher of the Asheville Performing Arts Academy, with music direction by Jenni Park.

WHEN: Friday, March 28 at 6:30 pm and Saturday, March 29 at 4 pm. Box office opens one hour before curtain time, and Auditorium doors open for seating 30 minutes later. The show is approximately one hour long.

WHERE: Ira B. Jones Elementary, 544 Kimberly Ave, in North Asheville. Please enter through the main doors at the front of the school, by the dropoff/pickup circle. Turn right as you enter the building to proceed to the Auditorium.

WHO: You are invited to attend! Our Friday evening and Saturday afternoon shows are open to Jones families, friends, neighbors, and the broader community. Our cast has worked hard on this performance and looks forward to seeing you there! Review our cast list to see which students will perform in each show.

TICKETS: Tickets will be available on-site on performance days only (no pre-sale). The box office opens one hour before curtain time. Pricing is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 2-12, and free for children under 2. Cash (strongly preferred), PayPal, or Venmo payment will be accepted.

Families who have a student(s) in the play will receive one free ticket per participating student (to be distributed at rehearsal in March). Parents/guardians who sign up to volunteer at a performance (link coming here in March) will not need to purchase a ticket for that performance.

PARKING: Guests may park in the Kindergarten lot (entrance on Kimberly Ave), in the back/cafeteria lot (entrance on Ottari Rd), or on the street along Kimberly Ave and in the surrounding neighborhood.

ADDITIONAL SHOWS FOR LOCAL STUDENTS: A performance for students of local preschools and elementary schools will be held in the Jones Auditorium on Friday, March 28 at 9:30 am. This performance is not open to families or the general public – only to school groups. Teachers accompanying their class attend for free; the cost is $3 per student and for other adult chaperones. The play will be performed for all Jones Elementary students, teachers, and staff on Thursday, March 27, at 9:30 am. This performance is not open to the public.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI (www.mtishows.com). Please note, any video and/or audio recording of the show is strictly prohibited.
